Leaving on a jet plane

I'm all packed. My uni assignment was completed and handed in a couple of hours ago (i'm a bit of a last minute sorta person). My kindle has 35 books on it, and six documents about HIV, for the health education workshops i'll be doing. I saw my last movie at the cinema last night, for a while. I'm getting very nervous, about the horrible flight plan and the unknown of Malawi and nursing over there. I will update this as much as possible but I'm not sure what my internet situation will be like. My brain feels all frazzled, so this may be a little disjointed. Need to leave in 45minutes so I am going to go be sociable with my mum and sisters and eat some baguette.

A.O.W

I was welcomed to the Philippines by Wilson, my lovely taxi driver, and his love of 90s pop music. The 3.5 hour  drive to Maya was soundtracked by Aqua, the Vengaboys and who ever it was who sang hey macarina! (You can dance that dance to any song FYI). The views were spectacular, the ocean was visible for the majority of the ride and when it wasn't leafy green forest areas were. The car had air-con which was lovely as it's a very humid heat, staying steady at 28 degrees most days and only dropping a few degrees when the sun goes down. Makes for a very sweaty Hemy. After a short boat ride I arrived to the beautiful island Malapascua, just in time for the interns meeting at 5. Hash, Hookers or History?

Me and the Aussie one ventured forth to Amsterdam a couple of weeks ago. It was our first official holiday, meaning it was a trip out-with either of our home nations. Many people assume the only reason anyone goes to Amsterdam is for the Hash or the Hookers but we realised there is a third "H" people travel for; History. Even the taxi driver on the way to the airport said people only go for the hash and hookers and then spent the next twenty minutes telling us about his nephew, who used to have a hash addiction and who's step-father wants to send to Amsterdam for his 18th birthday. We however were going for the history and because its a new place (for us). The flight was uneventful apart from the fact we were given food, now as I am accustomed to cheaper airlines (where it's surprising that you don't have to pay for the toilets) the prospect of free drinks and a snack was quite exciting. Oh endo, why art thou back?

  I find it somewhat ironic that since sharing an old post for Endometriosis Awareness Month, I’ve been in increasing amounts of pain. So much so that my voice is husky and I was sent home early from work. The fatigue has dropped like a curtain behind my eyes, eyes that are ever brimming with tears of frustration, sadness and hormones.   I should rewind a bit as I realise I’ve not posted since before my second surgery.  In October 2019 I had excision surgery with an endo specialist. I was in hospital over night, on oxygen and good pain killers. Apart from one stupid doctor - who told me I was infertile, late at night, while on my own, mistakenly - it was a much better experience compared to my first surgery.
